As the moon waxed and waned;
As the partial world set dreams to rest;
The island country ran its grinding day;
The Earth, her rumble began its test.
The thunderous tremble started in;
The shuttering of buildings and walls began;
The Earth, she did not waste haste;
Her plates they could no longer take.
Splitting 'neath the waters' tides;
Mother Nature granted her sigh;
One which left a sorrowed city;
A crumbled country, ruins, pity.
When the waves they crashed ashore;
Until the ocean reaped no more;
Havoc wrang across the plains;
Wreaking destruction, taking means.
Among the tireless media cry;
The World, she watches to this nigh;
Awaiting numbers with anxious eyes;
While Mother Earth's people stop in stride.
We wait, we watch, we listen, we hope;
While God, Mother Earth, and Humanity weep;
And prayers are sung while victims cope;
Japan, to you our souls are weak...
Our hearts ring out to your entire nation;
With love, generosity, open hands;
To you we offer empathy, prayers, and patience;
And to you all, solace and peace for your land.
